Dear Parents,

With several behind-the-scenes website and portal enhancements underway this summer, MyLatin will be closed and you will not receive News Alerts from us through the month of July. To bridge that push of information, we have created this Summer Portal which should hold all the summer information you might need. It will be updated frequently; please visit this temporary Summer Portal often. MyLatin will be up and functioning on August 1.

Communication Updates
On 6/1 you should have received a welcome email to our database with instructions on logging into the system. The email gives you your user name and a link to set your password. Once you log in, you can:

Verify your Directory information
Set your Directory preferences (e.g., make home address public/private)
Access all Magnus Health documents and the Magnus system

Please log in by clicking on the logo below to review/edit Directory information no later than 7/15.

MyLatin is accessible starting 8/1 for the 2022–23 school year.

Health Documents

The following forms need to be submitted before attending CLS. These forms can be submitted to your student’s Medical Record when you have access later in the summer (via the Magnus Health Link on your summer portal page on Veracross). However, we are providing these forms to you now so that you have time to complete them.

The Fall Enrichment class offerings are below and available for VIEWING only.

On Monday, May 23rd at 8p.m. you will be able to REGISTER for the Fall season. You will register via the Campbrain link below.

Read the following information, as this will help you get ready for the Fall Enrichment registration process. Also, please be sure to see the Helpful Tips attachment as this will help answer any questions you may have.

If you have previously registered for Summer Day Camp Programs and/or After-school, Enrichment Programs, please use the same login information. If you forgot your Login and/or Password, please use the Reset option.
Be sure to test your username and passwords ahead of time to make sure they work.
If a class is full, please be sure to add your name to the waitlist on the registration site.

Middle School Dress Code

The MS Administration has made some slight modifications (in bold) to the dress code. Please review these guidelines with your child and help us uphold our standards of dress for a professional learning environment. Athletic wear is not permitted and should be saved for weekends and school-designated “relaxed dress days.” If you have any quest ions about the dress code or what is acceptable, please email MS Dean of Student Support, Tracey Vanneste, at tracey.vanneste@charlottelatin.org.

Middle School Orientation Information

We welcome students new to CLS to campus on Friday, August 12 @ 8:00 a.m. for our new student orientation. New students will have an opportunity to meet other new students, teachers and the MS administration while getting important information and a campus tour given by current CLS students. We welcome all returning CLS students (including new students) to the following grade level orientations:

Grade 6 - Monday, August 15 @ 8:00 a.m.
Grade 7 - Tuesday, August 16 @ 8:00 a.m.
Grade 8 - Tuesday, August 16 @ 11:00 a.m.

FLIK provides on-campus dining services to our students. You will receive an e-mail during the summer from FLIK with your new login information, account number and instructions on adding money to your child's account.

Upper School Play Our Town
September 30, October 1–2

Our Town is a meditation on the big questions of life as well as a love letter to the simple pleasures that make life worth living. Maybe most importantly right now, the play is a hymn to the ties that bind us together as a community. With lots of laughs and plenty of heart, Thornton Wilder's classic provides opportunities for a large number of students to audition for roles large and small. Faculty are encouraged to audition as well!

Auditioning now via video submission. Students should share a one-minute monologue and fill out an audition form here by July 15.

Summer Day Camps

Go ahead and get your feet wet (maybe literally!) and enroll your child in one of Latin’s many Summer Day Camps for children ages 3-18. Several camps are led by faculty members and all of them are held right here on campus. What a great way for you and your camper to become even better acquainted with the School.
