Overview


The Varsity Dance team will be under new leadership in 2018-2019, as former assistant Marcia Sheinis takes over as Head Coach. Former Hawks dancer Jenna Branner Rude ’08 has returned to her alma mater to serve as Assistant Coach.

Coaches


  • Head Coach

    Coach Marcia Sheinis

    Originally from the Netherlands, Coach Sheinis started dancing at five years old and studied classical ballet, jazz, modern, character and Spanish dance before earning a teaching degree and moving to the United States. She began teaching when she was seventeen and continued to do so, gradually moving into the fitness world. In addition to coaching the Latin dance team, Sheinis is an instructor and personal trainer at the Levine Jewish Community Center. Her youngest daughter is a ninth grade student at Latin.

  • Assistant Coach
    A 2008 Latin alumna and former Hawks dance team member, Rude graduated from UCLA where she was a dance team captain her junior and senior years. Jenna and her husband, Jake, recently relocated to Charlotte from Los Angeles and welcomed their first child, a daughter, in June 2018.
