David has more than 20 years experience as an athletic director and has led Latin Athletics since 2012. He is a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) who has served on the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association’s (NCISAA) Board of Advisors since 2013. David has also been the president (2013-2014) and vice president (2018-2019) of the Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association. Since joining Charlotte Latin’s administrative team, he has served as an academic advisor in the Upper School, coached the seventh grade girls’ basketball team (2017-2018) and is a Strategic Plan goal team chair. His past experience includes Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY, St. Mary's School in Raleigh, NC, and the Galloway School in Atlanta, Georgia. David earned a B.A. from Denison University and an M.A. from Ohio University. His interests outside of Latin Athletics include running, biking and spending time at the beach with his wife, Kristin, and daughter, Grace.
Tim joined Latin’s staff as the Head Athletic Trainer in 2007 and added Assistant Athletic Director duties to his role in 2013. He also coached the JV Boys’ Lacrosse team from 2008-2015. Tim previously worked at Rhodes College, serving as an assistant for three years before moving into the Head Athletic Trainer position in his final two years there. He earned a B.S. from Marietta College in 2001 and an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia in 2002. Tim was selected as one of ten national finalists for Training & Conditioning magazine’s Most Valuable Athletic Trainer award in 2017. He and his wife Katy have two young children – son, Connor and daughter, Payton.
Deb became a Certified Master Athletic Administrator in 2018, a distinction only held by four percent of athletic administrators. She manages the intricacies of the schedules for Latin’s 66 athletic teams and the referees and support personnel required to host competition. Deb also created and manages the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), which meets monthly to develop and foster leadership characteristics and team-building skills. As a member of Latin’s coaching staff since 2008, Deb coached the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team through 2012 and has led the Field Hockey program to nine conference championships and five state titles. She is a USA Field Hockey Level 2 Certified Coach and has earned the Booster Club’s Varsity Coach of the Year award (2016) and the Steve Howard Excellence in Coaching Award (2017). Deb earned a B.S. from Clark University and a M.S. from Winthrop University.
Dick began his coaching career in 1978 and was hired in 2004 as the Head Coach for Latin's Varsity Boys' Lacrosse team. He serves as Middle School Athletic Coordinator and Physical Education teacher and added Assistant Athletic Director to his duties in 2013. During his time at Latin, Dick has also coached Middle School Football and started the Girls’ Lacrosse Program in 2004. He was recognized as the North Carolina High School Coach of the Year (private) by US Lacrosse three times (2005, 2013, 2014) and received the Booster Club’s Hawkspy Coach of the Year award in 2015. Dick earned a B.S. from SUNY Cortland and a M.Ed., Athletic Administration from Springfield College. Dick is father to Hawk alumni Tayler ’09 and Eric ’11 and his interests outside Latin include outdoor activities, especially fly fishing.
Angel joined Latin’s staff in 2016 as the Sports Information Director and added assistant coaching duties for the Varsity Swimming team in 2017. She has an extensive background in marketing, most recently as the Director of Communications and Marketing for SwimMAC Carolina and as the owner of Trimble Creative Services. Angel has also worked as a contractor for The Charlotte Observer and as an assistant producer for WBTV News. She earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Science from Virginia Tech, with a minor in communications, business and sociology. She was a full scholarship swimmer for the Hokies, earning scholar athlete honors all four years and serving as a team captain her junior and senior years. Angel’s interests outside of work include supporting her teenage sons’ athletic teams, cheering on the Hokies and the Panthers, hiking, fitness and photography.
