n the second match-up with both Covenant Day and Charlotte Country Day, the boys' swimming team was dominant. The Hawks won every event and finished 1st and 2nd in six out of eight individual events. The girls' team defeated Covenant Day, but came up short against a strong Country Day team. The varsity swimmers have one more regular season meet (1/24 - senior night) before the CISAA Championships on January 30th.
It was a successful weekend in Raleigh for the varsity wrestling team. The Mat Hawks went 4-1, their only loss coming in a 33-33 tie that was determined on criteria. Next up, the Hawks host Cannon in their CODE BLUE match on Tuesday, December 18th at 6:00. Go Hawks!
The varsity boys' basketball team had three players score in double figures on December 14th to get a convincing 74-34 win on the road at North Raleigh Christian Academy. RJ Johnson led with 19 points, Grayson Clements scored 12, and Bennett Smith contributed 11. This week, the Hawks host Metrolina Christian Academy on Tuesday and Queens Grant on Thursday.
The varsity girls' basketball team won 39-36 on the road at North Raleigh Christian Academy on Friday, with Ruthie Jones and Kathryn Vandiver leading the scoring with 13 and 12 points, respectively. NCISAA Champions! The Hawks won their 4th consecutive NCISAA title October 27, 2018 by defeating Charlotte Country Day in the second overtime period. Caroline Juckett scored the winning goal on an assist from Myah Pease. Defender Sutton Orndorff was named the CISAA Player of the Year. Congrats on a great season, Hawks!
The Hawks finished 3rd in the NCISAA Championship girls' team race and 4th in the boys' team race, with Mary Schleusner and Maria Llerenas Soto earning All State honors. The conditions were incredibly unkind with temperatures hovering in the low 40's, rain throughout the race, water-logged fields and muddy hills. No personal record times to be had at this year's NCISAAs but all the runners should be commended for stepping up to the challenge and competing well.
The Hawks once again came from behind in a battle with Ravenscroft in the NCISAA semifinals on October 23rd. Unfortunately, they were just short and fell to the Ravens 2-3 to end their season. The team showed great fight and heart all season with Timothy Swimmer, Zach Case, Daniel Derraik, and Parker Nielsen earning All-Conference honors. Zach Case was also selected to the All-State team. The Hawks won 2nd place at the NCISAA Championship held at Country Club of Whispering Pines on October 22-23! Alexis Sudjianto, Elyssa Kim, and Gaby Cacheris received All-Conference honors, and Alexis was also honored as All-State.

2018 season complete. The track & field team competed in the NCISAA Championships at Ravenscroft School on May 18-19. In rainy conditions, the team still managed to come home with several personal records and a 4th place finish for the girls, and a 9th place finish for the boys.
2018 season complete. The Hawks fell to the Country Day Buccaneers in the NCISAA final, falling just one goal short of the program's first state championship. The team started slowly and faced a 0-8 deficit at the half, but managed to fight their way back to within one goal and nearly tied it with less than a minute to play. NCISAA Champions! The Hawks made it four in a row with a 3-1 victory over Providence Day on May 19th at Patten Stadium. The team's mantra had been #scorethefour all season, as motivation to work towards their fourth consecutive state title. Congrats Hawks!

The Hawks defeated #3 Durham Academy in the first round, but fell to #2 Providence Day in the semifinals. They finished the season 12/7 overall and 7/4 in CISAA match-ups. The varsity boys' golf team finished 5th in the NCISAA Tournament played at Pinehurst No. 8 May 14-15. The Hawks shot 304 on the first day and were in 3rd place behind Cannon and Christ School. Day two wasn't as kind to the Hawks, as five of six golfers saw a rise in their scores for a total of 324. Austin Sharrett led the Hawks with a 36-hole total of 152 for a five-way tie for 13th. Good job, Hawks!
2018 season complete. The varsity boys' tennis team received the #5 seed for the NCISAA tournament and hosted Forsyth Country Day in the first round on May 8th. The Hawks won 9-0 and advanced to face #4 seed Providence Day on May 11th. The team fought hard and was leading 2-1 after doubles, but several tight singles matches went to the Chargers and the Hawks fell 3-5. They fought for every point and showed great sportsmanship.
