Latin is committed to creating access to all students regardless of a family’s ability to pay tuition. Through both endowed and operational dollars, Latin distributes over three million dollars to both new and current students who have demonstrated financial need.

Charlotte Latin School utilizes a nationally recognized evaluation system to determine a family’s financial ability to fund their child’s education. Latin strives to cover 100% of the identified family’s need. Identified financial need is defined as the difference between tuition and the family’s ability to pay for tuition.

Applicants
The financial aid application process opens on November 15. To be considered for priority round decisions, all financial aid applications must be submitted by January 15. Once you have inquired through financialaid@charlottleatin.org, you will receive regular reminders and updates about Clarity webinars and financial aid information sessions. Returning Families
The financial aid application process opens on November 15. In order to receive notification of your eligible financial aid on your annual enrollment contract, all financial aid materials must be submitted by January 9.

What is a need-blind decision?
The Office of Admission and the Office of Financial Aid run a parallel but separate process to ensure the confidentiality of the applicant. Once students are recommended for admission by the Office of Admissions, a list of accepted students is communicated to the Office of Financial Aid. At that time, any accepted student eligible for need will be notified the award amount through the student contract. The contract is published at the time of acceptance. 

How is financial aid determined?
Financial awards are based on the eligible need as determined through a consistent and equitable process. The Clarity application enables all applicants to submit relevant materials for review by the Financial Aid committee. 

Are any expenses beyond tuition covered?
For students with the highest level of financial need, or students that have earned a named endowed scholarship at admission, additional costs related to school may/will be covered. 

How will I know if I receive support for additional school-related expenses?
At acceptance, you will be notified by our stewardship and scholarship administrator if you are eligible for additional financial aid, as well as what expenses are covered.
