Upper School
We puzzle, problem solve,
find our passions, and
prepare for our shared future.
The closer we come to graduation, the more we express ourselves, take intellectual risks, connect with our local and global surroundings, and celebrate our accomplishments. Ever aligned with our Core Values, in Upper School, we fully become the Portrait of the Latin Leader.
Program Highlights
In 9th–12th grades, we emphasize the joy of challenge, a strong educational foundation for college, and preparation for adulthood. Take a look at some of our signature Upper School programs.
Fab Academy
Our 20-week Fab Academy program, designed by MIT, teaches technical skills to develop prototypes, integrating art, physics, bioengineering, and mathematics.
College Counseling
Our College Counselors help us determine which colleges best meet our needs and interests. Students receive guidance on test prep, essays, and interviews.
Leadership Elective
In this course, seniors investigate their understanding of leadership and examine how they engage in it, including the practices required to lead in a changing world.
Global Studies
We deepen our world language skills, expand our cultural awareness during trips, and compete athletically abroad—all to cultivate our global competency.
"In Charlotte Latin's Upper School, spanning grades 9-12, we are committed to cultivating a deep and enduring love of learning, ensuring our students build a rigorous and comprehensive educational foundation that prepares them not only for success in college but for the complexities and challenges of adulthood. Our goal is to develop confident, thoughtful, and capable individuals who are ready to thrive in an ever-evolving world."
Lawrence Wall, Head of Upper School
Invested and Championing
Upper School students love their teachers, who become close mentors and encourage each student’s strengths and their striving. Every conversation between student and faculty cultivates students’ preparation — for college and life.
