At Latin, college counseling is a journey of deep self-discovery and high ambition.

Our experienced team partners closely with students and families, helping each student identify respected colleges and universities — both in the United States and abroad — that align with their values, interests, talents, strengths, and goals.

Latin's College Counseling Office guides our students and families through the college admissions process.

Staffed by four full-time counselors, a registrar, an administrative assistant, and three essay specialists, College Counseling ensures our students' continued success after Latin at colleges and universities. Through one-on-one meetings, parent info sessions, and college representative visits on campus, students and their families are introduced to the many possibilities open to them after graduation.

Counselors help students determine which schools best meet their needs and interests. They work with students and their parents over the Upper School years to know them better, understand their needs, and assist them with an ever changing college admission landscape. They work with them on standardized testing timelines, strategies for effective interviews, and how to craft essays that highlight their individual strengths. Support is individualized and proactive, empowering students to take ownership of the process.
