Charlotte Latin's varsity volleyball team earned its 20th consecutive Team Academic Award from the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The annual program recognizes teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. Of the 425 high school girls' teams that qualified, the Hawks' team GPA placed them in the top 20% to earn Honor Roll status for the fifth consecutive year.

Charlotte Latin first received the award in the 2002-2003 school year and has maintained that standard of academic excellence ever since. Only five schools in the country have achieved more than consecutive awards than the Hawks. The AVCA press release and a full list of teams are available here.
