Three Blumey Awards!

Great news from Matt Cosper and our Performing Arts Department:

At the Blumey Awards on Sunday night, both of our award nominees won!

Freshman Dominick Charles won for Best Featured Performer for his role as Daryl in Bright Star.

And for the second year in a row, senior Kate McCracken won Best Actress (for Bright Star). Kate will be traveling to New York City at the end of June to participate in the Jimmy's, the National High School Musical Theatre Awards. She will participate in workshops and masterclasses and compete for top honors. And she will be performing in the awards show...effectively making her Broadway debut!

Freshman Adam Stone, as a nominee for Best Actor, was invited to perform in the closing ceremony of Sunday's event, and was featured prominently, front and center dancing his heart out!

Additional fun facts:

As of Sunday, Charlotte Latin has had more Best Actor/Actress Winners than any other participating school in the 10 years of the Blumey Awards! Our winners have been:

Areon Mobasher (2013)
Ethan Holtzman (2018)
Arella Flur (2019)
Kate McCracken (2021/2022).
