Ten Charlotte Latin Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Charlotte Latin School continues to foster curious learners: the National Merit Scholarship Program recently announced that its nationwide roster of semifinalists for 2027 includes ten Charlotte Latin seniors. More than 16,000 high school seniors were named semifinalists in the 72nd annual scholarship program run by the NMSP; approximately 6,700 of them will be named National Merit Scholars in the spring of 2027, receiving scholarship cumulatively worth almost $24 million.
To be named a semfinalist, students needed to achieve one of the top scores on the PSAT in their state (fewer than one percent of seniors in North Carolina achieved this status). To become finalists and win scholarships, semifinalist students will write an essay and submit an application; they must have an exceptional academic record, the endorsement of a school official, and SAT scores on par with their PSAT scores.
These ten members of the Latin class of 2027 received the honor of being named National Merit semifinalists: Henry Anglemyer, Amanda Dimovski, Lillian Dong, Clark Fan, Sia Gullapalli, Arshia Jalali, Caroline Jin, Katia Seeburg, Elizabeth Wolff, and Kathryn Wu.
In addition, the National Merit Scholarship program cited these 15 seniors as commended students: Erik Anglemyer, Nishant Ashri, Chase Curran, Sophie Dunn, Angel Fang, Sadie Griffin, Finn Heizerling, Shivani Kaw, Graceyn Levesque, Deborah Lopes, Annabelle Poovey, Anjali Rao, Milo Trogdon, Henry Zhang, and Wilson Zheng.
Congratulations to all the honored students!
