The Robert W. Baird & Co. Business Scholar Award was presented to Shea Kennedy '22.

The Robert W. Baird & Co Business Scholar Award
The Baird award was established in 2013 to reward and encourage great outcomes through hard work and recognize strong leadership practices in a graduating senior. Baird & Company commits to Charlotte Latin School $2,000 per year for five years to be split evenly between student recipient and School. One thousand dollars shall be awarded to a graduating senior who displays a strong work ethic, seeks growth-promoting opportunities, and challenges himself or herself to excel. Preference will be given to a senior who has elevated interest in business, finance, or economics. As a commitment to education and in recognition and reward of instruction, Baird awards $1,000 annually to Charlotte Latin School.

Shea Kennedy exemplifies the Baird Award qualities in all of her pursuits at Charlotte Latin. This includes using her spare time to learn Norwegian because she admires this part of the world and is readying herself for a career in international business. She is a hard worker, and her teachers value her work ethic and pragmatic style. Her language interests go beyond Norwegian as she excels at Latin and Spanish, being inducted into the Spanish Honors Society in 2020. Shea is goal-oriented and purposeful therefore giving her all to everything she does. While at Latin, she has played Varsity Field Hockey and Lacrosse. She has also been a Student Admissions Ambassador.
