These eighth grade students attended the 2023 Affirming Community Together (ACT) Middle School Diversity Conference hosted by Charlotte Country Day School. This year's theme was Social Engineering: Unlocking Your Authentic Self, which reflects on and challenges the notion of social engineering within our schools and communities. Workshops focused on self-care, confidence building, and code-switching. Students commented that the program taught them a lot and allowed them to meet new people from other schools.
