The Hawks were well-supported by fans, both before and after the storm delay. These are the early-arrivals to the CLS student section.

The NCISAA 4A girls' soccer championship was an epic battle between Charlotte Latin and Providence Day that remained scoreless after 80 minutes of regulation, two 10-minute overtime periods and two additional 5-minute sudden victory periods. The title ultimately had to be decided by penalty kicks and the Chargers won the shootout. The Hawks finished the season as the state runner-up with a 17-3 record and Coach Lee Horton heads into retirement with 1,012 Charlotte Latin victories.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Forsyth Country Day School, but was ultimately moved to Charlotte Country Day School, which graciously agreed to host as a neutral site for its fellow CISAA schools. On the heels of the girls' lacrosse state championship victory earlier in the day, the CLS students showed up early and enthusiastically supporting the white-out theme. The match began at 2:00 pm and the Hawks attacked aggressively until the lightning detection system sounded and halted play just twelve minutes after it started. Both teams were moved to indoor locker rooms and spectators were asked to shelter in their vehicles. Unfortunately, the storms persisted until the teams were finally cleared to return to the stadium at 5:00 pm for a second, shortened warmup. Latin's fans returned too, many having left to attend a graduation party or two before returning to the stands to cheer on their fellow Hawks.

In girls' soccer, the Providence Day/Charlotte Latin rivalry has dominated the NCISAA for the past ten years. Latin's girls' teams have played in the semifinals or finals every year since 2006, and has faced Providence Day in six of the last eight championships. Each program has won three times.

Individually, two Hawks were selected as All-State honorees, and five were chosen as CISAA All-Conference, with junior Ella Smith earning the CISAA Player of the Year recognition. Congratulations to all of the Hawks on an outstanding season, and to Coach Horton for an incredible career!
