The Charlotte Latin Speech and Debate team competed at the North Carolina State tournament March 4 and 5. The students had a great showing, and here are the results:

Anish Thota ’25 - Semifinalist - Lincoln-Douglas Debate

Adam Stone ’25 - 5th Place - Informative Speaking

David Tian ’25 - 4th Place - Declamation

Natalie Gaslin ’25 - 7th Place - Extemporaneous Speaking

Evan Li ’26 - Quarterfinalist - Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate

 

Special shoutout to Megan Butt, Speech and Debate Coach and Upper School English teacher, for being this year’s Mildred Hussey Coach of the Year. This award is given to a coach who is nominated and selected by their peers for excellence in coaching and their commitment to the community. Congratulations!
