Junior Kwasi Thornhill Is a Nationally-Ranked Fencer
Congratulations to Kwasi Thornhill ’24, who recently competed in the National Fencing Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah (his second time in this competition in two years), and did very well. Kwasi also recently won the USA Regional Fencing Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, out-dueling a host of skilled fencers from across the U.S. and Canada.
Kwasi is a nationally-recognized and regionally-ranked #2 Sabre Fencer; less than 2% of fencers are Black.
He has fenced competitively for more than eight years, including representing North Carolina in the 2018 Junior Olympics in Columbus, Ohio. Kwasi is competing in the Capital Clash International Fencing Tournament in Washington, D.C., January 14–16.
