Hawks Volunteer at Mitey Riders
Meghan Dupuy ’24 is an official volunteer for Mitey Riders, a therapeutic horseback riding program that Harry Swimmer (whose daughter Gail is a 1977 Latin grad) runs at Misty Meadows. At the suggestion of her advisor, Upper School English Teacher Richard Harris, she brought current Mitey Riders volunteers and other Latin students together to assist him in hosting a Hawks & Horses service day and to help run the organization’s Spring Fair.
From Harris:
My English students Gabriel Carpenter ’24, Gabi Nolan ’24, Anna Gustafson ’24 joined us, and Lily Egan ’24 also joined us as well. We had a wonderful day today of service cleaning tack and helping to keep the horses healthy. It is a special kind of service experience in that it is relational not only with the people involved but also the nature with the beauty of the natural setting of Misty Meadows with all the green meadows and the birds singing and the horses coming up to be petted for attention.
