The Office of Community, Belonging, and Global Education creates environments where students are known, valued, and challenged and prepared to lead in an interconnected world. Across these pathways, students build the skills underlying understanding diversity, equity and inclusion and apply them with discernment and context. Through experiences that foster belonging, cultural competency, academic success, and global understanding, students develop the knowledge, skills, and character to become courageous, honorable leaders and responsible citizens. Honor above all. 

The Office of Community, Belonging & Global Education advances Charlotte Latin’s mission by cultivating a community in which every student is known, valued, challenged, and prepared to lead in an interconnected world. Through integrated work in Community & Belonging, Academic Success & Student Transition, and Global Education, the Office develops the knowledge, skills, relationships, cultural competency, and character necessary for students to thrive, contribute, and lead with purpose.

Belonging is the quiet certainty that one is known, that one matters, and that one shares responsibility for the whole. It is the outcome of teaching students to read any community, including their own, with conscientiousness, humility, and care.

At Charlotte Latin, Community and Belonging are built on the tenets of diversity, equity, and inclusion, practiced both at home and abroad. Global Education carries that commitment into the wider world, as our students approach new cultures and perspectives with curiosity, honor every person, engage across differences, and meet injustice with empathy and the moral courage to act. Through this work, our students embrace the tenets of the Portrait of the Latin Leader, ready to become agents of change and responsible citizens in a connected world.
