North Carolina mystery writers visit Charlotte Latin

Bestselling authors and award-winning photojournalists Joyce and Jim Lavene (center) brought their crime-solving skills to Charlotte Latin for the annual Library Volunteers Appreciation Brunch on April 30. The husband and wife team from Midland, N.C., has published more than 40 books, mostly mystery novels, as well as hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. During the brunch, Joyce and Jim shared insights about the world of writing and publishing, as well as the process they went through to find a singular voice in which to write their novels.
