Charlotte Latin wrestler Peter McClelland and assistant coach David Paige today will launch a worthy cause.

They organized the Charlotte All-Star Classic at 7 p.m. at Latin, and all benefits will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. It will be a dual-team format with wrestlers from throughout Charlotte schools.

“We want this to be a fun event that also has an impact,” McClelland said. “I believe it is time to help our fathers and grandfathers fund and fight their wars against prostate cancer. My grandfather is one of the many men quietly, bravely and silently waging a personal battle with this cancer.”

Tickets are $7, and kids age 7 and younger will get in free. For those unable to attend but wanting to donate, go to prostatecancerfoundation.org.
