Congratulations to Latin's wrestling team for winning second place at the NCISAA state championships on February 16. Congratulations also to Latin's three individual state wrestling champions: Frank Walker, senior (119 lb. weight class); Marshall Sykes, sophomore (130 lb. weight class); and Rick Sassano, senior (152 lb. weight class). Frank's win marked his second state championship.
The following students also finished in the top four in the state:
112 lb. class - Ross Calhoun, Soph. - 3rd place
119 lb. class - Frank Walker, Sr. (Capt.) - 1st place
130 lb. class - Marshall Sykes, Soph. - 1st place
135 lb. class - David Pearson, Jr. - 2nd place (runner up)
152 lb. class - Rick Sassano, Sr. (Capt.) - 1st place
160 lb. class - Collin Breeney, Jr. - 2nd place (runner-up)
171 lb. class - Austin Willard, Sr. (Capt.) - 4th place
285 lb. class - Greg Schuster, Sr. - 3rd place
