Charlotte Latin teachers attend World View seminar

Charlotte Latin sixth grade humanities teachers Linda Coffman, Diane Evans and Kari Wimbish attended World View’s “The Middle East and the West” seminar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on March 25-26, 2009. This year’s program was co-sponsored by the Center for European Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. They were among the 100 educators who traveled to UNC-Chapel Hill for the program and returned with a greater understanding of culture, history, religion, and politics in the Middle East.

In addition to the seminar’s featured presentations by experts on the Middle East, participants took part in small group sessions on curriculum-based global education resources for a variety of subject areas and grade levels.

World View, which is in its 11th year of operation as a UNC-Chapel Hill public service program, helps educators better prepare their students for the small and interconnected world in which they live. It does so by producing symposiums, seminars, global education leadership programs, workshops, and international study visits.
