Tip Your Hat

Lower School students donned creative hats on Friday, Jan. 27, for Tip Your Hat Day, an annual service project organized by the Lower School Service Club.

This year, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was the beneficiary of the project, and Lower School students were able to wear a hat for the day if they donated a dollar to the organization in honor of Charlottean Jordan Jemsek. Students were encouraged to perform chores at home to contribute to the effort.

Seven-year-old Jemsek, who battled leukemia for two years and is now free of cancer, addressed Lower School students during an assembly on Thursday, Jan. 19, to help promote the Tip Your Hat fundraiser. Click here to read the The Charlotte Observer article about Jemsek's visit to Latin.
