Serve for the Cure

A final THANK YOU to the coaches, managers, parents, spectators and especially the players who participated in the 2011 Serve for the Cure volleyball tournament. There was great volleyball throughout the day, a lot of fun and camaraderie among the players and a significant amount of money raised for the Charlotte affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

This year’s tournament raised a record $46,632! More than a quarter of a million dollars has been raised in the tournament’s 10-year history.

“These young athletes participating in Serve for the Cure are helping turn today’s women into a generation of survivors,” stated Gloria Scienski, Executive Director of Komen Charlotte. “Their commitment to others is an inspiration of strength, hope and motivation.”
