The eighth annual Serve for the Cure Volleyball Tournament at Charlotte Latin School on Sept. 26 raised nearly $46,000 for the Charlotte affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure - the most raised in tournament history. The event was hosted by Charlotte Latin School and sponsored by Sports Connection and Carolina Juniors Volleyball. Almost 300 players and coaches from 20 public and private high schools around the region participated. Suzie Pignetti, Latin's volleyball coach and assistant athletic director, is a 12-year breast cancer survivor and the tournament founder.
