Broadway comes to Charlotte Latin

Broadway veteran Paul Canaan brought his "Take It From the Top" educational program to Charlotte Latin School on Friday, April 24. The program gives students the chance to learn about musical theater from Broadway professionals, enabling young artists to develop performance skills, audition abilities and self-confidence. In addition to Canaan, the workshop also featured members of the touring production of Legally Blonde.

Canaan’s Broadway credits include Legally Blonde, Miss Saigon, Thoroughly Modern Millie, La Cage aux Folles and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Legally Blonde musicians Paul Pace and Kyle Norris also visited Charlotte Latin to discuss their profession with students in Anna Brock's Upper School music theory class. Pace is the drummer for the production and Norris is the associate conductor and keyboard player. Mrs. Brock also took part in the Charlotte run of the musical, playing keyboard three.
