Charlotte Latin seniors selected as National Achievement semifinalists

Charlotte, N.C. – Charlotte Latin School seniors Ibi Etomi and Sean Langston have been selected as semifinalists in the 46th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program. These scholastically talented students are among 1,600 black American high school students who now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 800 scholarships, worth more than $2.6 million, to be offered next spring.

The National Achievement Scholarship Program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), is an academic competition established in 1964 to provide recognition for outstanding black American high school students. To date, more than 29,500 young men and women have received Achievement Scholarships worth more than $94 million.
