Celebrating Chinese culture

Sixth grade students learn the Chinese martial art tai chi from artist-in-residence Cong Yuan on Thursday, Sept. 30. Yuan has been teaching students about Chinese culture, language and traditions this week as part of the students’ study of China. Born in Hangzou, China, Yuan studied at the Central Institute of Arts and Crafts in Beijing and received his MFA in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia. His artwork is on permanent display in several museums in the U.S. and at the National Art Museum in Beijing.
