Dawe finishes first in Western North Carolina Cross Country Carnival

Latin senior Haylee Dawe won the Girls' Championship Division of the Western North Carolina Cross Country Carnival on Saturday, Aug. 28, in Hendersonville. Haylee topped a very strong field with a 5K time of 18:49, the fourth-fastest time in the history of the Jackson Park course. Latin's girls' team, three-time NCISAA champions, finished a close second in the team standings to 3A public school state champion Chapel Hill. Seniors Ally Finical and Kameron Spence also finished in the Top 10, with times of 19:37 and 19:38.
