Of the 150,000 works that were submitted to regional affiliates for the Scholastic competition, approximately 10,000 works were honored as regional Gold Key winners and were subsequently reviewed by panels of professionals in the visual and literary arts for the national awards. One thousand of those works have received gold medals, silver medals and American Vision and Voices medals.

These accomplished students are invited to New York City to attend the National Awards Ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 9. National award winners also are invited to participate in a variety of creative workshops and activities around New York City, including a student reading at Bryant Park that is open to the public.
