Charlotte Latin seniors selected as National Achievement semifinalists

Charlotte Latin School seniors Jalen Ross and Alex Taylor have been selected as semifinalists in the 47th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program. These scholastically talented students are among 1,600 black American high school students who now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 800 scholarships, worth more than $2.5 million, to be offered next spring.

The National Achievement Scholarship Program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), is an academic competition established in 1964 to provide recognition for outstanding black American high school students. To date, more than 30,300 young men and women have received Achievement Scholarships worth more than $96 million.

Charlotte Latin senior selected as a National Achievement outstanding participant

Latin senior Andrea Gray has been named an outstanding participant in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. Approximately 3,100 students are named outstanding participants and are referred to 1,500 four-year colleges and universities in the United States for their potential for academic success.
