25 Charlotte Latin students inducted into Cum Laude Society

Twenty-five students were inducted into the Edward J. Fox Jr. chapter of the Cum Laude Society during a ceremony on Friday, March 26, in Thies Auditorium. Dr. Richard (Rich) Vinroot Jr. '88, Charlotte Latin's 2009-2010 Distinguished Alumnus, spoke at the event.

John Barry; James Bramlett; Ibi Etomi; Will Evans; Hayes Friddle; Megan Harley; Cameron Johnson; Tori Male; Lacy McAlister; Betsy Schell; Catherine Schepp; Elena Sharma; and Kelly Smith.

Juniors
John Bowman; K.J. Bredder; Elizabeth Carlson; Ryan Fogg; Maggie Gardner; Michael Grace; Brian Lax; Simon Menaker; Annie Powers; Jalen Ross; Alex Sanz; and Brendan Shi.

The Cum Laude Society recognizes academic achievement in secondary schools for the purpose of promoting excellence (Areté), justice (Diké) and honor (Timé).

In 1977, Charlotte Latin was the youngest school in the nation to be granted a Cum Laude Society charter.
