Lower School Technology Coordinator

Charlotte Latin School seeks a Technology Coordinator for a Lower School position that will begin in August, 2012. Hours for the 10-month position will be 7:45-4:30 during the school year, and will also include 60 hours of work during the summer.

Responsibilities for the position include:

  • facilitating technology instruction for students in grades TK-5
  • designing and implementing technology curriculum that supports grade level content
  • providing technology training and/or support for Lower School faculty members
  • providing innovative professional development for Lower School faculty members in regard to  integrating technology into the curriculum
  • creating media literacy and Internet safety programming for students and families

Requirements for the position include:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
  • a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or commensurate training, experience, or credentials
  • demonstrated facility with all aspects of Microsoft Office, Web 2.0, Windows 7, and proficiency working with both Windows and Mac operating systems
  • demonstrated facility with all aspects of SMART board technology (cameras and response systems)
  • several years of relevant experience
  • knowledge of current technology trends
  • basic or intermediate troubleshooting skills

The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing technology curriculum in a TK-5 academic setting, and will also demonstrate a desire to work collaboratively and innovatively with faculty members and administrators to enhance the academic program. The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators is critical.
