Charlotte Latin
is a school based on traditional values and unlimited opportunities.
Our school community embraces a variety of traditions that are shared
by students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff, as well as innovations
that reflect our dynamic environment. Students are presented with
many opportunities to explore and develop their interests, including
a variety of co-curricular options and a K-12 community
service program
that fosters a lifelong commitment to service through age-appropriate
activities. Students also are encouraged to explore their world,
and are supported in this endeavor through active Sister Schools
and Study Abroad programs.
At Latin parents are welcome participants in their children’s
school lives. Many participate in volunteer
organizations, such
as the Board of Trustees or Parents’ Council. They are often
on campus, cheering athletic teams or sharing lunch with a child
in Founders’ Hall. Alumni, too, often return to campus
to visit former teachers, and in some cases, to visit their own
children
at Latin. An active Alumni Association helps former students
remain connected to their alma mater.
At Latin’s core is a dedicated faculty composed
of experienced educators. The School's low student-teacher ratios and
considerable
professional development resources are designed to demonstrate
that Latin values its teachers and celebrates learning.
Many helpful resources are available to our students and families,
as well, including a counselor assigned to each of our three divisions
and a College Counseling Center. Our school supports its families,
both those with long associations with Latin and those new to our
community. We invite you to view Latin through our eyes, and learn
more about our school. We welcome your interest.
