Board of Trustees

Charlotte Latin is governed by the Board of Trustees, an appointed group that determines the School's policies. The Board of Trustees is the guardian of the School's mission. It ensures that the mission is relevant and vital to the CLS community, and that the School is successful in fulfilling its mission. The Board also oversees the School's strategic planning process and has the fiduciary responsibility for approving the annual budget.

Board of Visitors

The Charlotte Latin School Board of Visitors was established to support the School by enhancing its internal and external relationship through charitable, educational and social endeavors. The Board is comprised of former members of the Board of Trustees who wish to serve as ambassadors for the School.

Parents’ Council

This volunteer organization utilizes the talents and services of Latin parents to enhance their children’s educational environment, and to offer materials and services for the School and its students. Parents’ Council plans and executes many of Latin’s special events, including the Fall Family Picnic, the Book Fair, the Celebrate Art Auction, and May Day Play Day, our annual spring carnival. Latin’s cookbooks, Cooking With Class, Cooking With Class - A Second Helping, and A Third Course - More Cooking With Class, are published by the Parents’ Council, which also operates the Supply Nest bookstore and manages Wednesday Watch, the School family communications system. Due to the hard work and dedication of the Parents’ Council and its committees, these fun events also raise significant funds that are directly invested in their children’s education.

Booster Club

This family organization supports the School’s athletic program and promotes good sportsmanship among Latin’s student athletes. Booster Club volunteers work on various fundraising and service projects, including the annual Fall Barbecue Bash. Past projects accomplished or supported by the club include a competition-quality all-weather track, a field house and lighting for Patten Stadium, a new wood floor for Belk Gymnasium, the South Campus Athletic Facility, and the Beck Student Activities and Sports Center. Family memberships are available to all Latin families.

Friends of Music

By providing opportunities that enhance our students’ love and understanding of music as an art form, this family organization supports Latin’s thriving music program. Working closely with the School’s Department of Music, Friends of Music volunteers help organize and promote concerts, recitals, music trips, a recognition program, and the annual musical produced by the Music and Drama departments. This group also brings visiting performers and music educators to campus for the enjoyment and benefit of the entire Charlotte Latin community.

Friends of Theater Arts

The Friends of Theater is a parent organization that provides support for the School’s theater arts program. In coordination with the faculty, volunteers organize and promote a variety of activities to enhance students’ opportunities to learn theater craft and perform for the School community.

Latin Arts Association

The Charlotte Latin Arts Association was founded in 2005 to serve as a united umbrella organization to promote and support the School's art program, including dance, music, theater, and visual arts.
