Hello,
Welcome to Charlotte
Latin School. When my family moved to Charlotte
and I joined this school community, I was touched by the warmth and
support that we received from the students, parents, alumni, and
faculty. Of course, I expected nothing less for the new Headmaster;
however, I have found this experience to be the rule, not the exception,
for newcomers to the Latin community.
If you are a member of the Latin community, I
encourage you to visit this Web site often to check out the accomplishments
of our students and the various aspects of our vibrant school life.
If you are unfamiliar with our School, please take a few minutes
to review the Web site and learn more about Charlotte Latin. We
value our teachers, and we celebrate our students as they learn
new and important lessons every day to make them better people
as well as accomplished scholars.
Above all, Latin provides a balanced environment
for our students. We are a school with a challenging yet nurturing
atmosphere, created
by the presence of academic strength, a comprehensive athletic
program, a solid commitment to the arts, and an educational approach
that is traditional in design, but progressive in implementation.
We are a school where families of diverse backgrounds, races, religions,
and nationalities share the common value of respect for themselves
and for others, and an enduring dedication to the opportunities
that will enrich our children’s educational journey.
Personally, I am particularly proud of Latin’s
emphasis on our Honor Code. A plaque bearing the words, “Honor
Above All,” is proudly displayed in every classroom as a beacon
of the behavior we wish to model for and instill in our students.
Ultimately, the success of an independent school is largely dependent
upon the partnerships fostered among families, the School, and
the larger community. Independent schools have two clients: their
students (including alumni) and their parents. At Charlotte Latin,
we believe that we work together to provide the best possible educational
experience for our students.
If you would like additional information about Latin, please contact
our Admissions Office at admissions@charlottelatin.org. Our staff
will be very pleased to answer your questions and if you choose,
guide you through the admissions process.
We truly appreciate your interest in Charlotte Latin School.
