The School's two-acre lake serves as an
outdoor classroom for Charlotte Latin’s students. The lake
provides an opportunity for hands-on exploration and study of botany,
biology, zoology, and the environmental sciences. Once threatened
by pollution, the lake and its plant and animal life were restored
to health as the result of a massive reclamation project spearheaded
by Charlotte Latin students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
The reclamation project model is available to groups wishing to
save their own wetlands resources.
