The purpose of the Alumni Association is to assist Charlotte Latin School in fulfilling its mission by promoting a close relationship between the School and its alumni. Organized in 1989, the Association includes all graduates of Charlotte Latin, which this year totals nearly 2,900 alumni.
Alumni Association activities are coordinated by the members of the Alumni Governing Board. Some of the events sponsored by the Alumni Association include Reunion Weekend, the annual Spring Party, the Alumni Campaign, service projects, and continuing education opportunities. Alumni are
often invited to get involved in Latin’s campus life, and they stay connected to the School through the Charlotte Latin magazine and Latin OnLine, the School’s monthly alumni email newsletter.
The Alumni Endowment was established by the Charlotte Latin Alumni Governing Board in 1990, and it is used to support the School's vital needs, interests, and goals. The Endowment is used, in part, to grant the annual Inlustrate Orbem Awards, which recognize and reward exceptional and committed faculty members who have significantly contributed to the life of the School. In 2006, the Alumni Governing Board also established the Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Chair program, which honors with a substantial monetary commitment the teacher who most exemplifies leadership, instruction, and mentorship for the entire CLS community.
