Our computer lab has twenty-five 20-inch iMac computers. Each class in grades TK-2 receives instruction once a week for 30 minutes in the computer lab; grades 3-5 meet for 45 minutes. The weekly lab schedule has times when individual students can come in to work and additional times for teachers to bring their classes for writing or other special class projects. The emphasis of the computer curriculum, therefore, is to assist in introducing, reinforcing, and supplementing the classroom curriculum. However, in the process, the computer curriculum also systematically ensures attainment of computer literacy, cyber ethics, knowledge of applications (such as word processing, spreadsheets, and web browsers), keyboarding and basic programming skills. Activities are chosen to provide development in problem-solving, writing, research, and communication.
